The UK never adopted the Euro, so yes the P ound continued. Several other EU states still retain their own currency, though for most of them, they are obligated to join at some point in the future.

Blue are EU states using the Euro, while pink, green, yellow are EU states using their own currencies. The green dots, plus the purple countries are non EU states that use the Euro.

All this is going to do is spark some liberal interpretations of what constitutes as healthy (deep fried salad anyone?) and pollute the meaning of the word. Sure, there will be some positive benefit, but maybe just slap a government issue warning label about fatty and high sugar foods on the ads and that way there is less impetus to lie.

They should just require all fast food chains to have simple, architecturally unadorned buildings, painted one uniform color regardless of brand, with the name of the restaurant in simple text in a common font.

My closest Chic- F il- A is 175 miles away. It’s been a very,very long time since I had anything of their’s . I have forgotten what it tastes like. They used to have a Chicken Cae sar Cool Wrap that I got my former boss hooked on.

Best chicken sandw ich and fries near me is at a seafood restaurant :)

A teammate loved sweet tea. We had just wrapped up an event at Daytona. He wanted to bring some sw eet tea home, so we had to go across the street to Chic-Fil-A, before going to the airport. H e grabbed 2 gallons. It wa s his carry-on luggage.

Obviously, pre 9/11. I’m sure that would n’t work today.

That sounds like something I would do. It is an acquired taste of the sort you only learn because people you admire drink it by the gallon and you want to be like them. Trying it once is enough for most people not born with cup of sweet tea in their hand.

Zaxby's might be one of the better regional chains though. Expensive, but very good food and a great atmosphere for a fast food restaurant.

And some of the countries are on their way to replace at least one of those with the Eco which would still be quite similar (deposits insured by the Banque de France that also insure convertibility to other currencies and would still be on a fixed parity with Euro but France would not have a seat at the table anymore) .

Another “funny” currency is the Franc Pacifique which is used in French Polynesia, New Caledonia and Wallis & Futuna and are directly connected to Euro ; French Polynesia and Wallis & Futuna already voted to replace it for the Euro and New Caledonia waits for it’s independence votes to be finished to vote on that (if it’s staying French ) .

Honestly, it’s nothing special. You aren’t missing too much. IMO Popeye’s sandwich is better. You didn’t ask but here’s my ranking for fast food chicken sandwiches, best sandwich from each chain that I’ve been to. From best to worst:

1. Burger King Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich: BK has gotten waaaaay better in the last few years. This sandwich is no joke. Pricey for fast food though.

2. Popeye’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich- good sauce. Chicken is usually pretty moist, good quality breading. I feel that the meat is a worse cut than and the breading inferior to BK’s. If BK had Popeye’s sauce, it would be unstoppable.

3. Chik-Fil-A’s spicy sandwich. Middle of the road. Better than the non-spicy. I’ve always found their breading to be a little sweet, and the spice masks that, but I still know it’s there. I’m white but this is too white for me.

4. McDonald’s Buttermilk Crispy Sandwich. Best breading of the bunch. Always crispy, even after a ten minute drive home.

5. Wendy’s Spicy Avocado BLT Chicken Sandwich- I don’t often get Wendy’s, and generally I think their chicken is lackluster. Everything on here is just okay. Points for creativity- it comes together well enough.

I don’t eat much fast food lately, since Corona started and I’ve started working mostly from home. I might go to BK for dinner now though.

I haven’t been to a Popeye’s since the 1980's. There is one about 25 miles from me, but it’s at a Turnpike service center.

Not a fan of spicy chicken  and prefer grilled chicken.

I wouldn’t go out of my way for any of these. It’s fast food, not very healthy for you. Plus I could probably feed myself for a few days for what one of those sandwiches costs as a meal.

I also prefer grilled chicken over crispy, but fast food places tend to use such a poor grade of meat that it tastes better when the flavor is dominated by the breading. It’s not good meat and I don’t delude myself that it is. When I’m cooking for myself, I just cook thighs in a pan, no bread, no sauce. A few spices is good enough, since the meat’s more flavorful. Haven’t really bought chicken since March though, since the virus jacked up prices and made it so I could only find breasts and wings in the store, which I don’t like.
